Start Date: 6/30/2009 All Day
End Date: 6/30/2009

(STATEHOUSE) - Rep. Tim Neese (R-Elkhart) offered the following statement about House Bill 1001, which passed out of the House today by a vote of 62-37:

"Finally, the statewide economic uncertainty has to come an end-a budget for 2010 and 2011 has been passed," said Rep. Neese. "Today I offered my support for a budget that I believe is a responsible one given the poor condition of the economy. We had to compromise in many areas, but in the end I believe we passed a budget plan that will benefit taxpayers. It does not include any tax increases, nor does it spend important reserve funds. We were able to avoid cutting programs and services while directing important economic stimulus funds to areas of the state that need it the most."
