STATEHOUSE— “The recent legislative session addressed a diverse series of issues and was largely one of various accomplishments. It is a pleasure to serve my district and the State during a session in which the General Assembly worked to pass policies that protect Hoosiers: their budgets, safety and health. Along with passing Right to Work which gives workers freedom to choose to join a union or not, we also passed legislation that protects Hoosiers from secondhand smoke and protects Indiana’s youth from the harmful effects of synthetic drugs.
“I am very pleased that we passed legislation that doubles the funding for full-day kindergarten in Indiana. Education is extremely important, and now children all over the state are able to take advantage of full-day kindergarten. Overall, I believe the 2012 legislative session continued to strengthen Indiana.”
