STATEHOUSE – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce released their annual Legislative Vote Analysis, ranking State Rep. Tim Neese (R-Elkhart) as a pro-jobs legislator with a score of 89 percent.

This is evidenced by the large number of job-friendly House bills introduced and passed by the House Republicans.

“I appreciate and am honored to receive such a ranking. I feel the state legislature accomplished a considerable amount of work this past session and I feel the state chamber rankings received by the members of the General Assembly come as a reminder of the work put forth this session,” said Rep. Neese.

The Chamber’s Vote Analysis is produced after every legislative session. The legislator’s scores are determined by bills and select amendments’ impact on the state’s economy.

Some pieces of legislation included in the analysis that the Indiana Chamber highlights was: House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1004, which increases access to start-up capital for Indiana businesses in addition to lowering the corporate income tax rate; HEA 1006, which promotes economic development locally and regionally; and HEA 1007, which allows enhanced abatement schedules and hiring incentives to encourage local job growth.

“We worked to pass legislation this session that would provide tax incentives to small businesses and encourage economic growth to continue to see Indiana’s economy and businesses flourish,” said Rep. Neese.
