STATEHOUSE – For the 25th consecutive year, State Representative Tim Neese, (R-Elkhart), will offer his “Kick-A-Can” home improvement paint program this summer. The program offers low-income citizens assistance in exterior home improvement. Rep. Neese began the program as a member of the Elkhart City Council in 1988.
“I am glad to participate in positively impacting various people with this paint program,” said Rep. Neese. “This program allows me to contribute to our community in an effort to improve area neighborhoods.”
The program is funded through profits from a year round recycling project, individual financial contributions, in addition to paint contributed by Sherwin Williams and Rollie Williams Paint Spot of Elkhart.
“The generosity of Sherwin Williams and Rollie Williams Paint Spot has made this program a yearly success story. Sherwin Williams has been a part of this program from the very first year, and their support has allowed Kick-A-Can to continue for the past 25 years,” said Rep. Neese. “I am also very grateful to be able to welcome Rollie Williams Paint Spot this year.”
To be eligible for the program, individuals must live within Rep. Neese's district, own the home or garage to be painted and be financially unable to purchase the paint themselves. Rep. Neese's district is located in northwest Elkhart County and includes all of Cleveland, Osolo and northern Concord Township, in addition to Bristol and Washington townships. A street-level district map can be found at http://www.in.gov/h48.
