Rep. Neese is enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring information about recycling to the Indiana General Assembly. "There is much, much more that can be done to promote recycling and the use of recycled materials in Indiana," said Rep. Neese. "Being appointed to the board gives me the chance to have ideas heard. I hope to bring a fresh perspective and a willingness to work hard to determine what Indiana can do to promote recycling alternatives and programs." Rep. Neese has more than 15 years experience in recycling and environmental matters, in addition to serving on the House Environmental Affairs Committee since 2003. The recycling board has one member from each caucus in the General Assembly. Its purpose is to investigate energy development and recycling alternatives and programs for the state, including the use of Indiana products. The board reports its activities annually and is involved in the promotion and funding of programs that facilitate waste reduction, reuse and recycling in Indiana. "I'm honored to be chosen, but I'm also ready to get to work," said Rep. Neese. "Indiana has a lot to offer in terms of recycling and reuse, but only if people know about it." |
