STATEHOUSE- Specialty Heat Treating Inc. announced plans today to expand their facility and add 26 jobs to the Elkhart area said Rep. Tim Neese (R-Elkhart). The company plans to invest $1.5 million in a vacuum furnace for the facility to be installed in May 2010.

Specialty Heat Treating specializes in processing high-end components. They have a 33,000 square foot facility in Elkhart and the new furnace will provide additional capacity to its heat treating services, a process which enhances the properties of steel in a protective atmosphere.

"Each and every job that comes to Elkhart is one more positive sign that we are emerging out of the economic storm," Rep. Neese said. "I commend Specialty Heat Treating Inc. for growing their business and bringing new jobs to our community."
