Those eligible will be notified by mail beginning this week and will be able to check their benefit end date on their homepage on the state's online filing system, Uplink. People enrolled in the program will receive extended benefits and will be subject to much stricter regulations: · They must apply for three jobs per week and maintain a work-search log. · Work-search waivers are no longer available. · They must accept any work offer they can physically perform. According to the current state law, extended benefits will automatically go into effect when the 13-week average of Indiana's insured unemployment rate, which is the percent of Hoosiers receiving state unemployment from the entire pool of covered workers, exceeds 5 percent. These benefits will automatically deactivate and terminate all payments when the 13-week average rate falls below five percent. Remember, the insured unemployment rate is not the same figure as the unemployment rate.
