STATEHOUSE – Rep. Tim Neese (R-Elkhart) has been assigned to take part in two interim study committees consisting of the Regulatory Flexibility Committee and the Indiana Recycling Marketing Development Board. Interim study committees consist of a small group of legislatures implementing the expertise of subject matter experts on the principal issue. This allows for lawmakers to create legislation that is specific to the problem to address it more effectively. The Regulatory Flexibility Committee is tasked to observe any variations in the telephone or energy utility industries. Also, the committee is in charge of oversight regarding competition in the energy utility industry. The Indiana Recycling Marketing Development Board is delegated with the task of approving grants and business project loans designated to create products or find markets for products from recycled materials. The board meeting has been arranged for Thursday, August 2, at 9 a.m., at conference center rooms 1 and 2, Indiana Government Center south. “Both committees are crucial due to the major technological advances in the telecommunications, energy and recycling industries that have recently been made,” said Rep. Tim Neese. “I look forward to coordinating with many key experts on these focalized issues during these committee meetings.” For more information on the Regulatory Flexibility Committee please visit www.in.gov/legislative/.
