In a report released this week, Indiana was ranked as the best place to do business in the Midwest and the fifth best nationwide in a survey of more than 500 chief executives by Chief Executive magazine.
In light of this announcement, I wanted to focus on talking about companies announcing their commitment to bring more jobs to our community.
In March, Bemis Company, Inc., a global supplier of flexible packaging and pressure sensitive materials, announced plans to expand its operations and create up to 40 new jobs in Terre Haute by 2013.
Recently, ThyssenKrupp Presta Terre Haute, LLC announced plans to invest $22 million to expand and equip its manufacturing facility here, creating about 120 new jobs by 2013.
I am very pleased to hear about our continuing progress and I look forward to more businesses expanding their operations in Indiana. Additionally, I look forward to seeing companies take note of what Indiana has to offer and relocate, bringing more jobs to Hoosiers.
