STATEHOUSE - "After a wild and hectic long session, we're finally at the end. I have to say that despite some pretty huge bumps in the road, I'm proud of the work we managed to get finished. We were able to pass a balanced budget that focused on allowing Hoosiers to keep their hard earned dollars in their pockets. "We also tackled quite a few difficult issues one of which was putting our state's unemployment insurance fund back on a path to solvency. A number of education reforms were also adopted, which will give families more options when wrestling with their children's education. "At the end of the day though, we managed to get a lot done for our fellow Hoosiers across the state, and I think we'll start seeing the positive impacts of this session soon." -30- |
