STATEHOUSE - Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) on Tuesday announced the "Help is Here Express" bus tour will stop from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, at the Terre Haute City Hall.
The bus tour is sponsored by Partnership for Prescription Assistance with the goal of helping uninsured and financially struggling Hoosiers gain information on programs that provide prescription medicines for free or at very little cost.
"There are so many programs out there to help folks get their prescription medications at a reasonable cost. Yet, you can't take advantage of a program you don't know about," Rep. Borders said.
"This event will help make that connection between the people and the programs that can help them. And I encourage anyone struggling to make ends meet to head to Terre Haute on Thursday and seek assistance on their prescriptions."
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance is a nationwide effort sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research companies to provide one spot to gather information on more than 475 prescription assistance programs. Almost 200 of these programs are provided by pharmaceutical companies.
These programs help patients gain access to more than 2,500 brand-name and generic prescription medicines at low cost or no cost.
