(STATEHOUSE) Jan. 15, 2008 - "Property tax reform is long past due. I am pleased that this governor, having righted our ship of state, now has the ability to address such a weighty issue. We need to continue to exercise fiscal restraint at both the state and local levels if we are to be successful in a competitive world market for both jobs and financial investments. "The governor's address tonight has illustrated the need to address our state's property tax crisis, and I am open to his ideas and to working in a bipartisan manner to accomplish true property tax reform this session."
