"Young people from the Rossville FFA were very successful in their national judging contest," said Rep. Buck. "I applaud them for their victory, and their knowledge of the western agriculture lifestyle." The Rossville High School FFA Livestock Judging Team, consisting of Jeremy Harshbarger, Jared Huffer, Scott Evans, Torie Schwartz and Coach Mark Douglas, where invited to the Nation Competition in Denver because of their placement in the Indiana State Livestock Contest. The competition requires each FFA team to evaluate four different species of livestock including goats, sheep, pigs and cattle, providing oral presentations to officials explaining their findings. In competition against 860 FFA and 4-H students, the Rossville FFA Livestock Judging Team excelled in each category, bringing home the school's first title in national livestock judging competition. Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Wheatfield) was the Senate author of the concurrent resolution. |
