Rep. VanNatter to serve on House Committees
STATEHOUSE- House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) has announced committee assignments for the Indiana House Republican caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
In 2011, Rep. Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo) will serve on the following committees:
· Courts and Criminal Code · Environmental Affairs · Local Government
"It is truly an honor to serve on these three committees," said Rep. VanNatter. "I am very interested in the subject matter of each of these committees and I look forward to bringing my own experience to the table as we tackle Indiana's most important issues.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
In addition to serving on these committees, Rep. VanNatter will assume a new role as Vice Chairman of the Utilities & Energy Committee for the 117th Indiana General Assembly.
