After HB 1232 passed in the House on Feb. 2, the measure then moved to the Senate where the bill was amended and passed. The House agreed to "concur" with the amendment and now the bill waits for the governor's signature. "While this bill seems minor at first, logjams have been a major issue in our district," Rep. Davis said. "Residents have wasted countless hours and days trying to retrieve permits in an effort to have a logjam removed from their property. That timeless issue has now been resolved. Residents will now be able to alleviate flooding issues before their property is damaged or ruined." The amendment to HB 1232 includes several provisions to the process of removing a logjam.
