[r33] Delaware County Receives Energy Conservation Grant (4/1/2010)

STATEHOUSE-Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman awarded leaders from Delaware County at the Statehouse today with a $250,000 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).

Delaware County received an area three grant which includes:

Structure Retrofits for Government-Owned Structures (excludes lighting) 

  • Eligible projects include energy efficient Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and insulation
  • Renewable energy projects are not eligible projects
  • An energy audit is recommended but not required
  • Cost of energy audit can be claimed as an eligible, reimbursable expense       

The EECBG program is funded through the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) and administered in Indiana by the Indiana Office of Energy Development. Eligible participants include cities and towns with populations less than 35,000 and counties with populations of 200,000 or less.
