STATEHOUSE — State Representative Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) is pleased to announce that Josh Yocum, the Front Desk Supervisor of the Comfort Inn in Kokomo, received a 2013 Lieutenant Governor Hoosier Hospitality Award on Wednesday.

“Josh’s excellent service and dedication to ensuring that customers are pleased with their experience in Kokomo make him an easy choice for this award,” said Rep. Karickhoff. “We need more people like him to show visiting Hoosiers and tourists what Kokomo has to offer.”

Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann joined Mark Newman, the Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, to recognize outstanding service by front-line employees in tourism-related jobs at hotels, restaurants, attractions and other destinations in Indiana.

Awards were given to 18 different tourism-related areas across Indiana. Employees of Conner Prairie, the White River State Park Visitor’s Center, Pokagon State Park and the Brown County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau were among those who received awards.

The award ceremony was part of Visit Indiana Week, the official kickoff of the spring and summer travel season. For more information about tourism in Indiana, visit www.in.gov/visitindiana.
