STATEHOUSE – State Representative Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) has been named Budget Subcommittee Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee by Speaker of the House Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis).

“I have always enjoyed the budget process, hearing testimony and learning from a wide variety of experts who appear before Ways and Means” said Rep. Karickhoff.  “It is a natural transition with my local government experience and service on this committee.  The financial integrity of our state is a priority for me.  I look forward to working with members of the committee to find the best budget solutions for the State of Indiana.”

The House Ways and Means Budget Subcommittee is a standing committee that leads the drafting of the biannual Indiana budget outlining how money will be allocated for the two upcoming fiscal years.

“The Ways and Means Committee is the foundation of our budget process. My understanding of state and local finance paired with the dedication and commitment of the committee members ensures that our state will continue to be the fiscal envy of the nation,” Rep. Karickhoff said.
