STATEHOUSE- State Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) was appointed as Chairman of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.  In addition, Rep. Karickhoff was also appointed to the Sustainable Natural Resources Task Force and the Natural Resources Study Committee.
 
“It is an honor to have been appointed chair of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.  Looking forward to getting started in my position as chair of the committee and  to hearing discussion of  issues in order to bring forth recommendations to the legislative body,” said Rep. Karickhoff.
 
The Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations is tasked with examining the appropriate roles and responsibilities of the state, counties, municipalities, townships, and other political subdivisions in providing 911 and 911 services in Indiana.  The committee also fosters better communication and cooperation between all levels of government in order to improve the delivery of vital public services to the citizens of Indiana.

In addition to being the chair of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, Representative Karickhoff is also a member of the Sustainable Natural Resources Task Force and the Natural Resources Study Committee which will meet later this year.

“Committees are vital to the success of the next upcoming legislative session. They allow us to perform the necessary investigation into these important issues so that we are able to make the best possible recommendations to the General Assembly,” said Rep. Karickhoff.
