In 2011, Rep. Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) will serve on the Ways & Means Committee, which examines all taxation and revenue-raising legislation for the State of Indiana, including writing the next two-year state budget. Rep. Karickhoff will also serve next year on the Natural Resources Committee. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor. "I am ready to hit the ground running," said Rep. Karickhoff. "I'm honored that I was appointed to Ways & Means as a freshman legislator, and I'm looking forward to using my expertise in helping protect Indiana's environment and using our resources wisely on the Natural Resources Committee." -30- |
