State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton) has been reappointed to serve as Chairman of the K-12 Ways and Means Subcommittee. He will also serve on the Elections and Apportionment Committee as well as the Education Committee. "I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know they are all eager to begin their work,” said Speaker Bosma. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor. “It is an honor to be reappointed as the Chair of the K-12 Ways and Means Subcommittee,” said Rep. Thompson. “As a member of Ways and Means, we are tasked with passing an honestly balanced budget and continuing to provide our schools with the funding they need to prepare our students for future success. I look forward to continue advancing policies that strengthen our education system while also working to address discrepancies in the funding formula.” To view the committee assignments please visit: http://www.in.gov/legislative/house_republicans/newsroom/2015/2015committeeassignments.pdf -30-
