The Indiana State Board of Education joined State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett in recognizing Lebanon Community School Corporation's cost-saving efforts at last week's monthly meeting. Lebanon Community Schools Superintendent Bob Taylor stressed the corporation's multi-faceted approach to reducing costs. Wage freezes were instituted for non-certified employees while programs were consolidated in an effort to deliver high-quality services in a cost effective manner. In addition, the corporation's leadership took action to reduce utility costs while continuing to examine salary structure and benefits.
"Providing the highest quality educational programming and instruction regardless of the challenges is not only our professional obligation, it is my unwavering commitment to our staff and students," said Taylor.
