Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Start Date: 11/25/2009 All Day
End Date: 11/25/2009
Dear Friends,

As your family gathers together this week to feast and be thankful for another harvest, take a moment to get online and help a local Hoosier farm win a national contest!

This fall, as part of its Help Grow Your Soup  program, Campbell is partnering with the National FFA Organization to s howcase the contributions made by the American farmer by preserving barns and bringing to life the special stories of how good food is grown.

To date, Campbell and the FFA have restored five barns across the country and planted community gardens in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Camden, N.J.

This year, one of the nominated barns is from Thorntown! This historical structure is owned by the Dull family. The Dulls are actively involved in the community, and provide tours to school groups to educate future consumers about where their food really comes from.

Visitors can visit www.helpgrowyoursoup.com to vote for the Dull's Family Farm.  Campbell's will restore the five barns which receive the most votes. Winners will be announced on January 5, 2010. Currently, the Dull's Family Farm is in third place.

For every vote cast on or before January 5, 2010, Campbell will also donate $1 (up to $250,000) to the National FFA Organization.

In fact, if you haven't found the perfect Christmas Tree yet, consider buying yours from the Dull's Family Farm, which has been called one of the best "U-cut" Christmas Tree farms in Indiana. For more information, go to www.dullstreefarm.com.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

State Rep. Jeff Thompson
