STATEHOUSE - Today marked Organization Day for the Indiana House of Representatives, a ceremonial day on which all 100 members-including 19 new State Representatives-were sworn in by Chief Justice Shepard.

The newly elected Speaker of the House, Brian C. Bosma, pledged that he will do his duty and asks that all the Representatives do the same.

"I think everyone can agree that some changes in Indiana's education landscape must be made in the coming months," said Rep. Thompson.

"We will also see a greater degree of transparency than the Indiana House has experienced in several years," he said.

In September, the House Republican Caucus released their legislative plan which addressed their goals for jobs, education, government spending, and standing up to Washington, D.C. At the time, now-Speaker Bosma also noted that he wanted to 'reach across the aisle' and 'bring civility back to the house chamber'.
