STATEHOUSE – Monday, State Representative Rebecca Kubacki (R-Syracuse) welcomed Camille Kerlin, a junior at Warsaw Community High School who served as a page for Rep. Kubacki and the House of Representatives.

“It is always great to see students from our area serving as pages,” said Rep. Kubacki. I am always impressed by them and the manner in which they carry themselves.  They are confident and eager to learn the legislative process.  Indiana's future will be in great hands when I see the leadership skills they possess.   During my conversation with Camille Kerlin I learned about her future fundraising plans to raise money for Riley Hospital.  Not only are the students from Warsaw extremely bright but have such a commitment to community.”

Along with visiting the capitol building and touring locations such as the governor's office, the chambers of the Indiana House and Senate and the Indiana Supreme Court, pages also get the chance to witness floor sessions and committee meetings, in addition to helping legislators and staff members.

“For many of us, our 4th grade class on state government is a distant memory, but the Page Program really brings all that learning to life. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience how a bill becomes a law and to participate in that process,” said Rep. Kubacki. “There is nothing better than being a part of the legislative process for a day. I highly encourage students to apply and come see a day firsthand.”
