STATEHOUSE – “Governor Daniels’ final State of the State address spoke to the potential of vast job creation – despite our nation’s lethargic economy. Our great fiscal standing, transparency to our citizens and tax-friendly business climate has positioned Indiana for unparalleled economic growth. We have a lot of critical measures in place to bring more jobs to Indiana, but we are missing the last important piece: a Right-to-Work law. This law is pro-freedom, pro-jobs and pro-worker. No worker should be forced to pay union dues as a condition of employment. Indiana’s economy is faring better than most, but we cannot become complacent as 9 percent of Hoosiers struggle to make ends meet on the unemployment line.

“I am working tirelessly to give employers and employees all of the necessary tools to foster growth and prosper in this dynamic, global economy. Putting the right economic tools in the toolbox of Hoosier entrepreneurs and workers will equip them with the means to succeed. With the eyes of the nation fixed on Indiana, it’s time to capitalize on our unheralded potential.”
