House Dems Stall Floor Debate
STATEHOUSE- State Rep. Tim Wesco (R-Osceola) has been patiently waiting for two days for the House Democrats to return to the floor to recommence. In order for the House to resume session, approximately 67 of the House members must be present for a quorum call.
There are 23 committee reports that were killed and not adopted due to the House Democrats refusal to enter the House floor. Once the bills have died, they can no longer be heard in the House for the rest of the legislative session.
"I am very disappointed with my Democratic colleagues who chose not to represent their constituents today," said Rep. Wesco. "While it is not completely unexpected I still find it extremely disappointing that they didn't show up to work while being paid by taxpayers."
Rep. Wesco serves District 21, which includes parts of St. Joseph's and Elkhart counties. For the 2011 legislative session, Rep. Wesco is a member of the Government and Regulatory Reform Committee, Labor, Employment and Pensions Committee, and Public Policy Committee.
