STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Rep. Timothy Wesco (R-Osceola) was appointed to four different House Committees, including one vice chairmanship. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.

“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.

Rep. Wesco was appointed to the following committees:

• Government & Regulatory Reform (Vice Chairman)
• Public Policy
• Employment, Labor & Pensions
• Elections & Apportionment

“I am excited to continue serving my constituents and Hoosiers all across the state by serving on each of these committees,” said Rep. Wesco. “As Vice Chairman of the Government & Regulatory Reform Committee, I will help oversee the committee’s work and direction for government reform, a challenge I am eager to take on.”

Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
