Rep. Wesco Appointed as Chairman to Interim Study Committee on Child Care
STATEHOUSE - State Rep. Timothy Wesco (R-Osceola) was appointed as Chairman of the Interim Study Committee on Child Care. Rep. Wesco was also assigned to the Lake Michigan Marina and Shoreline Development Commission in addition to the Lewis and Clarke Bicentennial Commission study committees.
“It is an honor to have been selected as the chair of this committee. I look forward to the discussions that will take place in order to make recommendations to the legislative body next session,” said Rep. Wesco.
The Child Care Committee is charged with studying the system of child care regulation, and report and make recommendations concerning the system of child care regulation.
The Lake Michigan Marina and Shoreline Development Commission will study the comprehensive environmental master plan for development and redevelopment and then monitor the implementation of this plan. The committee will also make decisions on applications for environmental grants from the environmental fund.
The Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commission will assist local governments and organizations with planning, preparation, and grant applications for bicentennial events and projects. The committee will also act as a point of contact for national bicentennial organizations wishing to distribute information to state and local groups about grant opportunities.
“These interim committees are very important and will afford us valuable information that we will be able to utilize during the 2012 legislative session,” said Rep. Wesco.
