STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee chairmen and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
State Representative Tim Harman (R-Bremen) has been appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee.
“It is an honor to be appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee,” said Rep. Harman. “I am excited to take on a leadership role and look forward to reviewing the bills that come through our committee this legislative session.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“At 5.7 percent, Indiana’s unemployment rate is below the national average,” said Rep. Harman. “In my role, I will work with members of this committee to reduce that number while advancing policies that strengthen the Hoosier workforce, bringing more employment opportunities to our state.”
Rep. Tim Harman (R-Bremen) represents all of Marshall County and a large portion of Fulton County.
