Pressel to serve on summer study committee on economic development

STATEHOUSE (July 6, 2017) – State Rep. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development.

The committee will examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation for the 2018 legislative session.

“While on the economic development committee, I hope we can brainstorm ideas to keep Indiana as a leading state for doing business,” Pressel said. “Indiana is already ranked as having one of the top business climates in the nation. I will use my experience as a small-business owner to give input on ways we can continue to foster an environment that allows our economy to grow and keep Hoosiers working.”

Pressel said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
