STATEHOUSE (July 1, 2019) – State Rep. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) will serve on the Nonemergency Medical Transportation Commission, which will work to improve transportation services for Hoosier Medicaid patients.
Pressel sponsored a new law establishing the Nonemergency Medical Transportation Commission to oversee provided transportation services offered to Hoosier Medicaid patients.
“I heard from many people in our community about recurring issues with Indiana’s contracted transportation service,” Pressel said. “Late rides and missed appointments are unacceptable. The commission will look into how to better ensure patients have safe and reliable service, and Hoosier Medicaid dollars are used efficiently.”
Pressel will also serve on the Interim Study Committee on Government, the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, and the Lake Michigan Marina and Shoreline Development Commission.
Pressel said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
