STATEHOUSE (Dec. 19, 2018) – State Rep. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) encourages students who want to learn more about state government to participate in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2019 legislative session.
According to Pressel, those who are between the ages of 13 to 18 can spend a day at the Statehouse in Indianapolis helping staff and local legislators, touring government offices, and learning about the legislative process.
“The page program gives students a front-row seat to all the action in the House Chamber,” Pressel said. “Experiencing state government proceedings firsthand helps to grow their understanding of how the legislative process works and teaches them civic engagement. I look forward to meeting pages from our community this session.”
Pressel said student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups can participate together. For more information and to sign up, visit www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or call 800-382-9841.
The 2019 legislative session begins Thursday, Jan. 3, and must conclude by April 30.
State Rep. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) represents House District 20,
which includes portions of LaPorte and Starke counties.
