STATEHOUSE (June 28, 2019) — State Rep J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) will serve on two summer study committees, which examine the state’s top issues and recommend potential legislation.
Prescott will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs.
“The agriculture and natural resources committee will be looking into methods for preserving farmland in Indiana and management options for state forest land,” Prescott said. “The environmental affairs study committee discusses all matters related to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. I look forward to using my experience and knowledge as a farmer while serving on these two study committees.”
Prescott said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
