Note to the Press – State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Eric Holcomb's decision to deploy the Indiana National Guard to support the ongoing border security mission in Texas. Following the recent direct request from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Holcomb announced he will send 50 Hoosier guardsman to help the Texas National Guard during a 10-month deployment:
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 9, 2024) – "Texas should not have their hands tied when it comes to protecting its borders from the drugs and hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants coming into their local communities every month. I'm in full support of Governor Holcomb's decision to deploy our guardsmen to help Texans, who are on the front lines of this crisis. I pray for the safety of all our guard members and border enforcement as they work hard to address the chaos and lawlessness that the Biden Administration has welcomed into the United States," said State Rep. J. D. Prescott (R-Union City).
