STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Julie Olthoff (R-Crown Point) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development.

In the upcoming months, the committee will examine the best way to maximize the underutilized economic resources of Gary, Indiana.

“Summer study committees give us the opportunity to gather public testimony and better understand the issues at hand through research,” Olthoff said. “My experience as a business owner gives me some insight that might be helpful for discussing ways to strengthen Gary’s economy.”

Olthoff said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
