STATEHOUSE (Jan. 15, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to Northeast Indiana lawmakers.

State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.

"The House Page Program is a unique experience that young Hoosiers should not pass up," Abbott said. "Students can meet and work alongside lawmakers and learn more about the state legislature firsthand."

Applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts Jan. 8 and must end by April 29.

"Hoosier students will get the opportunity to explore the Statehouse, visit the House Chamber and watch the legislative session," said State Rep. Tony Isa (R-Angola). "I encourage students from District 51 to take part in this hands-on program."

State Rep. Ben Smaltz (R-Auburn) said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups can participate on Wednesdays only. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.

"State legislators appreciate when students come to the Statehouse and ask questions about the legislative process," Smaltz said. "The page program helps them learn more about Indiana government and our history."

Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
