Morris to chair House Committee on Economic Development

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 21, 2016) — State Rep. Bob Morris (R-Fort Wayne) was recently selected to serve as chair of the House Committee on Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development.

He was also named to the House Committee on Employment, Labor and Pensions and the House Committee on Roads and Transportation.

“As a small-business owner, my experiences will help guide me when working on policies ensuring Indiana stays on a positive economic path,” Morris said. “I am also eager to get to work on creating a long-term, sustainable and responsible roads plan that ensures future generations have a stable infrastructure without adding mountains of debt.”

Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 4, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2017 legislative session.
