Caption: Gov. Mike Braun (seated, center) ceremonially signs State Rep. Doug Miller's (R-Elkhart) (far left) new law to increase housing access in Indiana communities on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. House Enrolled Act 1005 builds on previous legislative efforts by boosting the Residential Housing Infrastructure Assistance Program, which is a revolving loan fund designed to help local governments pursue infrastructure projects that support housing development. Through the fund, municipal governments can apply for low-interest loans for certain infrastructure projects, like electric or gas distribution lines, that are related to residential housing and can be costly and impede development initiatives. Linda Rogers (R-Granger) (second from right) and Indiana Builders Association President Ryan Baker (far right).
