STATEHOUSE (Dec. 10, 2018) — State Rep. Doug Miller (R-Elkhart) was recently reappointed as vice chair of the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee.
“Small businesses are the foundation of Indiana’s economy, so we need to do everything we can to create an environment where people can build their business and create jobs,” Miller said. “As a small-business owner, I understand the needs of Indiana businesses and workers. In this role, I will use my experience to help Indiana maintain its status as one of the top states to start and grow a business.”
Miller was also reappointed to serve on the House Environmental Affairs Committee and the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee, and will serve as Assistant Majority Whip on behalf of the House Republican Caucus.
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 3, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
