STATEHOUSE (Aug. 9, 2023) – State Rep. Doug Miller (R-Elkhart) recently concluded a statewide tour to meet with fellow legislators and explore their hometowns and talk with Hoosiers about issues important to them and their families.
Miller, along with State Reps. Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) and Tim O'Brien (R-Evansville), traveled the state in an RV for two weeks and hit the road to meet up with their colleagues from the House and Senate, including Republicans and Democrats. The group traveled more than 2,000 miles as they made stops in Lafayette, Terre Haute, Bloomington, Avon, Newburgh, Madison, Versailles, La Porte, South Bend, Hobart, Evansville, Kokomo and other Hoosier destinations.
"It was great to get outside, hit the road and explore everything Indiana has to offer," Miller said. "I really enjoyed getting to know fellow legislators and meeting so many Hoosiers with different backgrounds. Everyone has a unique story to share, and I appreciate those who met and visited with us."

With Indiana's next legislative session kicking off in January, legislators will soon begin meeting at the Statehouse as part of the interim summer study committee process. Miller recently received an appointment to serve as vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Government. He will also serve on the Government Reform Task Force. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify at committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also livestreamed and archived online at iga.in.gov, where committee calendars and meeting agendas are posted.
