State Rep. Wendy McNamara (R-Evansville) will be serving on the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code.
In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.
“As we continue our work through the summer and fall months, I am eager to partner with experts in the field, the public and my colleagues to tackle a number of pressing public safety issues affecting Hoosiers across the state,” McNamara said. “This collaborative effort and the knowledge it affords are imperative as we work to decrease recidivism rates in Indiana and protect all Hoosiers.”
McNamara said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.
McNamara will also serve on the Midwestern Higher Education Commission.
