STATEHOUSE (July 6, 2017) — State Rep. Wendy McNamara (R-Evansville) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code, which will examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation.
“During session, we focused on enacting a law that will provide support for those who have mental health issues or are addicted to drugs and are also in the criminal justice system,” McNamara said. “Those who suffer from these problems need better tools to address their underlying issues. In our interim study committee, we will look at ways to help these individuals and address their problems.”
McNamara will also serve as a member of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact.
She said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
State Rep. Wendy McNamara (R-Evansville) represents House District 76,
