Eric Holcomb (seated, center) Monday, July 8, 2019, at the governor’s residence in Indianapolis. The law recognizes Supported Decision-Making Agreements as a valid way for individuals to choose supporters to assist them in making decisions. The supporters provide assistance but the person retains final decision-making authority. It can be used as an alternative to guardianship to help promote the person’s self-determination and independence.

State Rep. Wendy McNamara (R-Evansville) represents House District 76,
which includes portions of Posey and Vanderburgh counties.
