McNamara received the award for her work as chair of the House Courts and Criminal Code Committee and for her legislative efforts aimed at driving down human trafficking in Indiana. In 2023, McNamara authored House Enrolled Act 1196, which helped ensure Hoosiers seeking their commercial driver's licenses are trained in how to spot and report human trafficking on Indiana roadways.
