STATEHOUSE (Nov. 22, 2022) – Julie McGuire of Indianapolis took the oath of office today to become local state representative for House District 93 serving south-central Indianapolis.
Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to all House lawmakers during a swearing-in ceremony in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during Organization Day, the formal start to the 2023 legislative session.
"I'm honored and humbled by the opportunity to represent House District 93," McGuire said. "It's important we work together to strengthen our local communities. I'm excited to tackle issues that hardworking Hoosiers and their families care about, including improving public safety, supporting job creation and expanding parental choice in education."
McGuire was born and raised in Indianapolis, and gained experience through serving in the community, and working with nonprofits and in state government. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University.
She and her husband, Mark, are the proud parents of four children, Sophia, Grace, Brady and Mark. They are longtime members of St. Roch Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
