STATEHOUSE (Oct. 16, 2018) – Aviation Indiana recently named State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) state representative of the year for her legislation providing financial flexibilities to airport commissions.
“As Indiana airports continue to grow and attract more visitors, the airport authority and local boards face new and different challenges every day,” Mayfield said. “With common sense changes, the local boards of aviation commissioners now have reasonable flexibilities to handle daily expenses along with unexpected financial needs.”
Mayfield authored a law this year allowing boards of aviation commissioners to use their rotary funds for expenses incurred throughout the year. Before this law, funds could only be accessed at the end of each fiscal year. The law also gives Morgan County full voice and vote during Indianapolis Airport Authority board meetings.
State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) represents House District 60,
which includes portions of Monroe and Morgan counties.
She is the assistant majority floor leader and serves
on the Committee on Ways and Means.
