STATEHOUSE (Oct. 15, 2021) – State Rep. Chris May (R-Bedford) recently honored Brown County High School for having 25% or more of its 2019 and/or 2020 graduating students taking Advanced Placement courses and scoring at least a three on the AP Exam.
"Congratulations to Brown County High School for achieving this academic distinction," May said. "It takes everyone – students, parents, teachers, faculty and administration – to ensure a quality education. The Eagle community deserves this recognition for putting so many of their students on a path to success."
AP courses are college-level classes taken in high school so students can enter college having already earned some credits – saving time and money. The AP Exam is graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with many U.S. colleges offering credit for scores of 3 or higher.
"It's important for young Hoosiers to challenge themselves academically," May said. "The Brown County High School students who took and passed AP courses have a head-start on their college education."
Brown County High School is 1 of 73 Indiana schools to earn this commendation.
