STATEHOUSE (May 10, 2023) – State Reps. Ethan Manning (R-Logansport) and Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2023 legislative session.
As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Manning and VanNatter on the House floor to witness and learn about the legislative process.
"This is an excellent program for young Hoosiers who are interested in current events, social studies and the legislative process," Manning said. "Students are able to meet their state leaders and better understand how their elected officials work on behalf of all citizens."
These Logansport students served as pages during the second half of the 2023 legislative session:
"This is a great way for students to jumpstart their civic engagement and learn how their state government works," VanNatter said. "It also helps young Hoosiers develop an understanding of how laws are created and encourages them to stay involved moving forward."
VanNatter said students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2024 legislative session.
