STATEHOUSE (Jan. 10, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to Madison County lawmakers.
State Rep. Lori Goss-Reaves (R-Marion) said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.
"For students curious about how things work at the Statehouse, this program offers a way for them to learn and explore their interests," Goss-Reaves said. "I always look forward to meeting the young Hoosiers who participate in this meaningful experience."
"Learning about Indiana's government early on can leave a huge impact, especially when students have a front row seat to the lawmaking process," said State Rep. Chris Jeter (R-Fishers). "I would love to have the opportunity to meet young Hoosiers from our district and show them how their state government works."
State Rep. Kyle Pierce (R-Anderson) said applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts Jan. 8 and must end by April 29.
"This program allows students to go beyond the classroom and witness how our state government works," Pierce said. "They will learn about the legislative process and the impact of state laws. I encourage all eligible students to apply and take part in this valuable experience."
State Rep. Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown) said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups can participate on Wednesdays only. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
"Students leave the page program with a better understanding of how the government serves them and their families," Rowray said. "I’m excited to see the future leaders who will take part in this year’s program."
"As a new member of the legislature, I’m excited to welcome students to this year's page program," said State Rep. Ethan Lawson (R-Greenfield). "This program allows young Hoosiers to see state government in action and learn more about how decisions are made that shape our communities. I look forward to meeting the students who take part in this opportunity."
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
