STATEHOUSE (Sept. 27, 2016) — State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) and fellow Republican members of the Indiana House of Representatives are seeking interns for the upcoming 2017 legislative session, which runs from January through April.
“An internship allows students to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to the real world, while gaining valuable work experience,” Lucas said. “Former interns used the skills they honed here — like time management, multi-tasking and writing — to launch their careers.”
College sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, law students and recent graduates are eligible to apply. Benefits include a bi-weekly compensation of $700 and opportunities to earn academic credits and a scholarship.
Lucas said these are full-time positions, Monday through Friday, with a typical work day starting at 8:30 a.m.
Internships are available in various departments, including legislative, communications, technology, fiscal policy and policy.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 31. For more information and to submit applications, visit www.indianahouserepublicans.com/internship.
State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) represents House District 69, which includes portions of Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings and Jefferson counties.
